In 2023 I organised and hosted a sell-out panel event and asked the hard questions about negotiating pay.

Diversity in our industry is significantly influenced by pay rates. In an industry where entry-level roles are often low-paying, and favour candidates who can afford higher education or industry training, a certain level of privilege and family support is needed in order to be able to “afford” to enter the industry via the typical pathways. This was my motivation for hosting this event with Youngbloods QLD and Assisterhood.
